Michael's First 40" Ride

Michael got on his first 40" ride at California Adventure, the Jelly Fish ride. It goes way up high and Michael did not know exactly what it did. He knew it went up because he saw it but he did not know what to expect. After going on with me I asked him if he would like to go on with daddy. He said yes with a big smile. Michael was sooo excited the second time he was yelling "go up" after he got his seat belt on.

Bubble Fun

I thought it would be fun to make big bubbles with Michael. I found something (one of Michael's hanger) for dipping and a big container for the solution. Got the dish soap and water and mix it up and had some fun. Michael was not able to make any bubbles but I made big ones for him to pop. Michael did have fun playing in the solution and making bubbles on his hands and popping them. March 24, 2010

Visiting Fullerton Fire Station

With our meetup group we had a scheduled visit to a Fullerton Fire Station. There were about 30 of us. Michael had a fun time. All the way there he was saying "where is weoo weoo (siren noise)" We saw a train and he said "no choo choo, weoo weoo" A lot of his words are sounds they make. When we got there Michael got his badge, tried out the hose and saying "uh oh" looking at where the water should come out. We saw a lot, the kitchen, exercise room, teaching room, relaxing/living room, bedroom and the garage. Michael got to sit in the drivers seat and check out all the buttons on the truck. Strawberry Picking at Tanaka Farm

Michael and I went with our meetup group to go strawberry picking and a hour tour (on a tractor and we were in the trailer) of the farm to try other veggies. We ate spinach, carrot, roman lettuce, celery, snap peas, onion and last strawberries. Michael loved going out and picking the strawberries and eating them. He even ate them off the plant not picking them. March 23, 2010

It has been too long

I have not been into blogging lately, as you can see. So I have gone through the pictures in the last month and decided to get new bloggs up for you that care to view. These pictures are from 2 Disneyland days.
The one at night is we met up with one of Rod's friends from way back who was visiting in this area and going to Disneyland. Disneyland closed at 8pm (usually leave around 9:30pm) and so we decided to walk around Disneyland Hotel and found this little photo place and would like to go back in the day light for better pictures. Fullerton Arboretum

We went to the Fullerton Arboretum for a playdate for our meetup group. We first walked around on the trails and then found a shading place for the kids to play. We ate our picnic lunch and after let the kids free to play. There are no playground toys so the kids explored nature. There was a neat tree with a lot of trunks that Michael loved playing on. We got a cute group shot of the kids sitting. At the end of the day Michael gave Julie a hug. He lean over, put his head on her shoulder and patted her back, so cute. August 24, 2009

Michael's Toddler Bed

So we made the move to a toddler bed. Michael helped to convert his crib to the toddler railing. It has been 3 days and nights now and he is doing good. He loves that he is able to get in and out of his bed himself. August 26, 2009

Fun Day with Julie

Can you guess where we went? You are right Disneyland!! Well Julie's mom, Lett annual pass was going to expire that week so we did one last time, she will get another one after she has her baby. The kids always have so much fun together. We did some Fantasyland rides, petting zoo, saw some chipmunks (Chip and Dale), went on Winnie the Pooh, the big Pirate ship and the double Decker Bus. We did a lot for the park being pretty busy. I guess we know what to ride and when for the shorter lines. The day ended on the bus going down Main Street looking at all the people going in the park.

Birthday at Disneyland

Rod and I took Michael to Disneyland to celebrate his birthday. We did our usual rides, Small World, Carousel and Winnie the Pooh. We also sat at the piano to relax and hear some good ragtime music. It was such a nice day and not too busy.

Michael's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Michael's birthday at my moms house and had a great time. We did it in the evening so it would not be so hot. Michael was in a very good mood, which made us very happy (you just never know with a 2 year old). We had a jungle theme. Michael only ate pasta salad for dinner and cake for dessert. Michael opened every gift and looked at everything he got. He put the clothes around his neck and HAD to try on the shoes. Michael tried to read every book he got and played with the toys he got. It was very nice that he got about 3 toys, a Big Wheel, a lot of books and a lot of much needed clothes. When it came to cake time Michael loved it when we sang "Happy Birthday" to him and tried to blow out the candles (he had to do the candles two times). While I was slicing the cake Michael picked up the spatula and served his own piece of cake and started to eat. I guess I was not fast enough with the cake. Happy Birthday Michael

Michael is 2 years old today and we are celebrating his birthday this evening at my mom's house. He has a cut lip from falling last weekend and a bruise on his for head from falling this morning. Michael can't stop moving and running these days. I know I have more bumps, cuts and bruises to come. I will post an update on his achievements soon.

OC Fair

We went to the OC fair with our meetup group. There only 4 of us that went. The fair did not open until 12 noon so we had to enjoy it in the heat. We went to a petting zoo and Michael did not want to be in there because the hay on the ground was bothering his feet (he had sandals on). We went on one ride, the ticket we got had one ride on it. They went on the helicopter and airplane ride. Julie and Michael had to go on it together because Julie was not tall enough but Michael was so for some reason that was OK, it was strange but Lett and I went with it and put the kids on the ride together. We put them in the helicopter and it was not working right (suppose to go up and down and it did not) so the ride operator said the get a free ride. She put them in the airplane and off they went again on the ride, up and down this time. It looked like they were having fun. Then we went into a toddler tent the fair had and played and played. Michael really like the magnet toy, he liked put them together and watching it fall when it got too high. Then we moved to the music and castle blocks. Again Michael liked building and falling/knocking down the blocks. We decided to get a group shot of the kids on the cow. I was holding Michael's hand to go over there and I told Julie to hold Michael's other hand (she was looking for her mom to go over there) and she did without Michael complaining. Of course he did not complain he "likes" her and she "likes" him. After the group picture Julie gave Michael a kiss on the cheek and no complainants again (no picture it happened too fast). Then we headed home. Oh you might wonder about Michael's lip, well he fell at Disneyland on Sunday and scraped it on the cement, ouch. August 5 2009

A Ho Down

Our church had a Ho Down to raise money for children with cancer. A family had lost their daughter from cancer and ever since the mother and family have been raising money for the hospital and children with cancer. This time it was a Ho Down fun. There was a petting zoo, food and activities. Michael really enjoyed the petting zoo, his favorite were the bunnies. He also touched a chicken, a duck and waved to a llama also(he did not want to touch it). I took a picture of Michael on the prop set up for photos. July 31,2009

Wednesday morning fun (at least for Michael)

Street sweeping. Michael like to go outside and watch the street sweeper every Wednesday morning. He has done it so often that the street sweeper drivers always slows down in front of the house and waves to Michael and Michael always waves as he is coming.

Pizza for Breakfast

Michael is not a breakfast eater. He eats ok/good for lunch and dinner. Well, Rod was eating pizza for breakfast and Michael noticed and wanted some. mmmm cold pizza in the morning. He almost ate a whole slice. Just like Daddy, leftover cold pizza and a TV show. July 27, 2009

Swimming

Well, we decided to take Michael swimming for the first time this summer in a swimming pool. The neighbors let us use their pool. We thought he would not like it and we were right. Michael is just weird about water this year. He loves the bath and whines when it is time to get out. We tried two night in a row and both of them he did not like it. He just whined about it but was able to get him to smile and laugh when Rod would pop out of the water or splashing, but then went back to whining. Michael did enjoy golfing at their mini putt green. Westminster Splash Pad with Kylee

We invited Alicia and Kylee to the Westminster Splash pad this week. We knew that Kylee likes water and playing with Michael. We had a picnic lunch first to wait for the splash pad to open (at 12 noon). It took Kylee a while to warm up to the a lot of water and people and this time it took no time for Michael to warm up to the water. He had a blast. He jumped right in to the water and getting wet instantly. He was adventurous. After Rod took him all over to show him the other things there he went out on his own. Once Michael took me out farther to show me around luckily I did not get too wet, I was not prepared to get wet. The water got in Michael's eyes and it did not bother him as much until the end I think because he had enough chlorine in his eyes and it bothered him. My little helper

Michael goes nuts when the vacuum is out. He has to help. He went and got the extra tubing for extension of the vacuum and had to have a turn vacuuming. So after I was done he vacuumed the rest. Michael really was help, he got under the freezer, under the table, on top of the freezer, under the couch where the dog comes in and at the doggy door. I did not have to bend over to do the floors where the vacuum dose not reach. July 23 2009

Playing in the water with Kylee

We took Michael's splash pad over to my moms house and Kylee came over and played with Michael. They had a lot of fun. After some water play they had to try out Michael's new little coupe we found for my moms house for free. Michael had fun pushing Kylee in it.

Another Disney night

Yes another Disney night, what else to do, it was a nice evening to get out and have fun. We first went to Disneyland and went on a few rides. Michael rode the lead horse on the carousel (the Julie Andrews horse). He was very happy this day on the horse. We also went on Winnie the Pooh and Small World. It got later than we realized and had to move pretty quickly to the other side (California Adventure), we wanted to see the Electrical parade. We found a spot at the handicap spot that no one was at. We had to wait about 10 min. for the parade to get to us, so it was good timing. When we tell Michael we are going to watch the "light parade" he taps his head to tell us about the float that has a hat. This time we had brought our good SLR camera and I was able to get some better pictures of the evening. July 16, 2009

Michael Jumping

Michael loves to jump and he is getting better at it everyday. When the dog is going to go out for a walk she jumps around and Michael jumps with her. When Michael sees a line or a crack or really anything on the ground he tries to jump over it. A few days ago we were at my moms house playing. Rod asked Michael to jump in the hoola hoop and Michael did, with amazement he jump forward and over the hoola hoop. So I got our camera and videoed it. He was so proud of himself for doing it. Julie's Birthday Party

We went to Julie's 2nd birthday party on June 11th. It was a hot day at the park, but still a lot of fun. Julie is one of Michael's friends from our meetup group. We think there is a little toddler crush going on with both of them. They love to hang out together and play so good together. They played bubbles without fighting over them, wow two two year olds not fight for something. So I mentioned it was hot, so hot it melted the icing off the cake. The kids did not mind, it still tasted good. Michael is starting to enjoy desserts now and ate some of the cake, had a tootsie roll and drank water out of a water bottle. Julie tried to give Michael a kiss but Michael would not get close enough to her to get the kiss. It was so cute trying though. Then they played Pin the Tail on the Donkey and Michael did pretty good not knowing what to do. It was present time and Michael found a seat to watch Julie open them, on a gift. We left the party with a very messy shirt and a very tired boy.

A Day At The Zoo

We went to a small zoo at Irvine park with our meetup group. It was very nice and we had a lot of fun. We first let the kids loose in the goat petting area. The kids had a lot of fun brushing the goats and touching them. Michael had a great time going to every goat and saying something to them. After about a half hour in the petting area we ventured off to the wild animals. We saw birds (owls, hawks,eagles and peacocks), bears, a mountain lion and more. Then we went outside the zoo and had a picnic lunch by the water where the kids decided running around a tree was a lot of fun. Then we walked over to the pony ride. Michael loved it. I had to hold on the leash of the horse and try to take pictures walking backwards. I did it and got a few good pictures. Michael ended up saying horse at the end of the ride for the first time. But like usual he won't say it anymore.

So Michael will not go into his pool, all he want to do is fill his water table with the hose and not really play in the water. We thought he needed something that he would like to go into. So the search went on. Thought maybe something my feet could go in and show him it is fun. I thought maybe we can go to Big Lots to see if we can find something for a cheap price. Well it worked, Big Lots had this Splish Splash Pool. It was not cheap so we looked some more, but nothing. So we went back (with Great Grandma's help with money) we got it. So glad we did.

At first Michael was not sure about it. It took him awhile to warm up. I uploaded a lot of pictures because I thought it was cute how he warmed up to it. Michael thought it was interesting right away but not sure about it. So Daddy (Rod) helped him get into the water. Michael thought it was neat that the water got him wet. He stood there letting the water get him then he decided to touch it and tried to drink it. Michael got into the pad by himself in another area, touching the water coming out and walking around to touch other squirting water. Then he leaned into the water to drink it. Michael had a lot of fun in his new water splash pad. I know he will get a lot of use out of it.

Caterpillar craft

Our meetup group did a story time and craft play date at the park. It was the Very Hungry Caterpillar book. Then the kids painted a caterpillar. Michael had a lot of fun painting (I guess we need to do painting at home also). When I put the eyes on Michael painted them also. Michael is really enjoying doing crafts. He worked so hard and concentrated so much I could not get his attention to look at me for a picture. July 8th.

4th of July

We did not do much on the 4th of July. We went to Brea's 4th of July picnic, not too interesting. They advertised a petting zoo and it was only 3 animals to look at through a fence. But Michael liked the big fire truck they had out there. We went home, Michael had a good nap and we had ham sandwiches with family. We attempted to get a family picture but Michael was not into getting a picture taken. Then we dog sat the skittish old dog that does not like the fireworks. Michael thought it was great to see fireworks from the living room. He would look out the slider door and watch them. We went outside on the back patio to see them too. Then whenever Michael would hear the booming and popping he would run outside and point to the sky were they were and see more. It was so cute.

4th of July Potluck

I hosted the 4th of July potluck for our meetup group. There were 8 that came. We had good food and the mommies got to sit around and talk while the kids played in the yard. After lunch we got Michael's water table and pool out so the kids can play in the water. Michael was a bit crabby by now, whining to hold the hose and he is also cutting his 2yr molars. There is Michael playing with Julie again. It seems that they like to play together. He is also playing with Zachary at the sand box. July 3rd

A visit from cousin Ella

Rod's cousin Emily came up from San Diego to visit us. She and her daughter stayed with us Monday-Wednesday. On Tuesday we went to see Michael and Ella's Great Grandma at her place (senior living) and also their Great Aunt Sylvia. We had lunch together and few other family members came too. We did a group picture. Michael had a lot of fun with Ella while she was here and was looking for her when she was gone and saying ah oh.

Electrial parade

On Sunday June 28th we had nothing to do so we headed off to California Adventure to see the Electrical Parade. It was a slow night so we went on 2 rides and then got a spot for the parade. We got the same good spot we had last time. Michael enjoyed more this time. He sits and does not move. He waves to most every float as they go by, it is so cute.

Disneyland Fun

We met up with a friend from our meetup group. The beauty of facebook. I posted that we were going to Disneyland and Lett commented we are too. I suggested we should meet there and eat, she said ok. We met ate and hung out together. My mom and Rod was with us too. It was a fun time. So relaxing since the kids don't have special demands for rides and where we go yet. The piano is in Goofy's house. It makes silly sounds so Michael had to go to it often. June 26th

Party for Owen

Owen is in our meetup group and he turned 2 June 25th. We helped celebrate at a park for a park play date. Michael and I had a great time. It was a nice warm afternoon and a great park. We ate pizza and had juice drinks. Michael had fun playing with his friends, on the slides and in the swings.

We go to the elementary school by us to play and Michael found the drinking fountain and had fun. It was just the right height for him to do himself.

Michael found the attachment hose for the vacuum and was pretending to vacuum the window sill. He is our Mr. Clean. Michael likes to clean, he often asks for the vacuum and dust buster.

Michael discovered he can open the entry way door today and asked me why there was a knob inside (in he own cute way). I told him for when you go inside you can open it. So he went inside the closet and opened it from the inside (many times).

Splash pad fun

Our mommy meetup group went a park that had a separate water area . We were not sure if Michael would like it. We know that he loves to play in the water but was not sure if he would go in this water and get wet. Michael loved it!!! He did not go very far in the water area. He liked the water coming out of the ground only. The water falling from above, on him, scared him. He saw a little boy step on the water and tried it himself. Rod had to help him at first then he got the hang of it. He did not mind the water in his face, he just wiped it off. There was a little cool breeze that made the fun become a crabby chilled boy.

Car wash day

We went to one of those do it yourself car wash to save money on the water bill. Michael liked watching his daddy wash the car and when Rod was using the scrubber Michael decided that he will use the sprayer. Then we brought home the car to dry and vacuum it and Michael had to help. The vacuum is on in the picture. I was doing the rugs and left it and Michael wanted to try it too, but it was more fun vacuuming the ground.

Last Wednesday Disneyland and Friday night

Well the plan was I was going with my Mommy meetup group, but they changed. The 2 other moms canceled the night before so we took daddy with us. We made it a family fun day at Disneyland. The weather was great and it was not summer crowded yet. We did a lot in the short time we were there. We decided to try out Toontown and there was a little park there to play at. We saw Mickey Mouse at his house and left to go on small World. After we had lunch that we brought at the piano. Michael was having fun with the cover of his stroller pushing it up and down. We had one more stop, the Atopia cars to drive. Michael had a great time. Then it was time to go home for a nap for all of us.

Then Friday night we went to California Adventure to see the Electrical Parade. We first sat at the piano to have dinner we brought (mmm sandwiches). Then we got a spot for the parade and left Rod there to sit and save it when Michal, my mom and I walked around the park to keep Michael busy. The parade was great. Michael loved it and kept asking for more. He was begging please and more in sign language. We of course we will doing it again.

First time finger painting

Today (Tuesday) we had a June potluck with our meetup group. We ate good food, Michael played with his friends and I talked with mine. Later we did a craft. The kids did a finger painting on a picture frame. It was Michael's first time to finger paint. I thought he would get mad that there was paint on his hands, but instead he loved it. I showed him how to do it with his fingers but he saw the other kids using their hands so he did also.

Our church groundbreaking

On Sunday at church we were celebrating groundbreaking for new construction. There was a picnic after. Michael had fun digging in the dirt and going in the tractor. Michael had fun pushing a toy dump truck on the scooper of the tractor. We had good food. Michael had to try corn on the cob and ice cream.

This groundbreaking is for building a new sanctuary, parking lot and other things. It has been 10 years trying to get these plans in motion.

Playing with Kylee

On Saturday we met up at my moms house with Alicia and Kylee. We had a lot of fun. Michael helped my mom fill in holes on her grass, but thought it was good to use sand out of his sand box. Kylee had fun on Michael's slide and sand box. After we had dinner we went out to the front. Michael was having fun riding his bike and Kylee thought it was funny that Michael ran into her.

Michael 22 months

So 22 months, that is only 2 months away from 2 years old. As you can see in the picture he is always on the move. It has been very hard lately to get a picture of him sitting still and looking at me with a smile. A friend was helping me here and still he was wiggly.

Michael had been trying to climb more these days. He can sometimes get on the couch himself. We have been challenging him at parks to climb. In the video you can see he is doing very good at it. This is at an elementary school last weekend. Don't worry Rod was there to catch him. If you notice he was problem solving trying to get his foot and leg up.

Michael has been trying to talk, well sort of. He can say cheese, I did it (it is a slur of the words) all done (all da), Dada which is for both of us, yeah, weee, oooh, ah oh, all the time everything is an ah oh. He has said light once. He mimics sounds, like Tiggers oo oo oo ooo and awooo and many more. He loves music and bops his head back and forth in time with it. He loves to watch My Friends Tigger and Pooh on the Disney channel. When the songs come up he has to stop what he is doing and bop his head. His doctor (he went yesterday for his shots) was at first worried about his speech but stopped when she found out he has very good motor skills. Also Michael understands what we say and tell him. She said that Michael was working on his motor skills right now and will talk later, whew.

Michael can hit a ball off a tee (really not just hitting the tee and the ball goes also) and hold the bat right. He can use a screwdriver and put it on the screw and twist it. He can jump off the ground (a 2 year old thing his doctor said).

Strawberry Picking

We went to a farm to pick strawberries. It was with our mommy meet group. First we took a tour of the farm and tried out some veggies. Michael tried them all and did not like any of them at all. The picture with his tongue out is his reaction to tasting an sweet onion. He also thought he should try the top of a carrot with his tongue. I got great pictures of the other kids(3) eating strawberries but Michael was not into it this day, he was tired. We had fun though.

Fullerton Arboretum

We went with our mommy meetup group and had great time. There were 7 of us that met up, three moms also had their new babies. Michael and the other kids loved to be able to run around in the big open grass area. There was a pond with frogs, turtles, ducks and a crane. This is where we set our turtle free when we moved. I had leftover food and brought it to share. The boys loved throwing the food out for the turtles and fish were jumping out and eating it too. We were able to get the kids set up and take a picture of them all together. Michael was so into the nature, having to swat down and look at it closely. As you can see in the pictures Michael had a lot of fun with his friends. The boys are playing with each other now.

We stayed home to day and had a lot of fun outside. Michael started out the day going out in his pajamas and playing on the patio. Then we came in got clothes on had breakfast and went back outside. Michael worked so hard sweeping and racking the leaves. I trimmed some branches of the trees and Michael had fun with the branches. I rained off and on but that did not stop us from having fun. then we came in for lunch and nap. It was nice staying home.

We went to Chuck E Cheese in the morning because it was raining and Michael wanted to play outside. So we thought , well we still have tokens left over from last time let's go have some fun. We did and still came home with tokens. Rod was showing Michael how to play games but he did not show him how to use the gun game. I don't know where he learned that from.

After Michael's nap we went to Disneyland to have more fun. It was fun watching Rod and Michael going around on Dumbo. It was fun for both of them, I think this was the first time going together without me. We of course went on Small World and Michael is getting very vocal on the ride. Waving at the animals and noticing a lot of thing to point at. We took the big train around Disneyland. Michael loves the train, when we got done and out of the tunnel of dinosaurs all Michael wanted was more. We told him the next time we come to Disneyland we will go on the train again.

A day at the park

We went to the park to take pictures and play with our mommy meet up group. We had a lot of fun. The picture of the boys in the stroller are Owen, Ethan, Michael and Caleb. We were waiting for the other moms to get there. When they got there we headed to the play area and decided it would be a good picture area also. So we let the 7 boys and 1 girl play a little then started to take pictures in shift of playing and photographing. Michael went to the top of a very tall twisty slide with one of the moms and her son and loved the slide. He had to go on it many times. I got some picture of him coming down two different slides. I tried to get pictures of Michael on the rocks by myself but he would not look at me, smile or stay. Finally, after we had lunch, I got the help from a mom to get Michael to stay (the first picture). He did not give me he normal big smile but is still cute.

Sunday at the beach

We went to the family (my moms cousin's dads) beach house in Surf Side. I went there many time when I was growing up. We got there about 2:00. The weather was great, not too hot with a little breeze. It took Michael a long time to warm up to the house. He fell asleep in the car on the way there and woke up somewhere he did not know. To make it worse it was a house with sand as the yard. Michael likes to play in the sand but not touch it. He doses not like bare feet. So he had a lot of issues to deal with. We finally got him on the sand with his sandals on to eat some chips and dip but he would not walk on the sand. Then he decided he might walk a little bit on the sand to get more chips. Then we were able to get his sandals off. He did not mind the sand on his feet. Amazing. So we decided to go to the water and dip our feet in it. Well, Michael did not like the cold water at all. He did not even want his feet on the cold sand. He just stood there and started to whine about it. So we went back to the house to play in the sand. Michael warmed up to the fact that there was sand everywhere. He had a great time. He even sat in the sand and put it on his legs. Michael had fun running on the deck back and forth. He loved the freedom to run, play in the sand, eat chips and play on the stairs in the house. We had a good dinner, Michael got his bath and went home around 7:30, but, before we left we had to go one last time upstairs to see the view of the water. Michael liked doing that.

We went to Kylee's 1st Birthday party. For you that don't know who Kylee is, she is my mom's best friend since high school, Jan, granddaughter. Jan now lives in Oregon and visits as often as she can. Jan's son Kevin, who I grew up with so he is family, and his wife live near us so we see them often. Michael and Kylee are 9 mths apart and love to play together. So, as I was saying we went to Kylee's first birthday party. I took the pictures for her parents of the party so I got some good ones. I was a great day. Michael had some first that day. It was the first time he ate cake, had candy(tootsie roll) and drank almost a whole carpi sun juice. Michael also had no nap and did really good.

Then after this party we had another. It was at our neighbors house. On our way home and to the party Rod and I had to keep Michael awake. He was falling asleep in the car. All Michael did a this party was get chips and dip, play at their little putting green (golf) and with the dogs.

California Adventures with mommy group

It was a great day. Sunny and warm. We had 2 friends with us. It was all boys. We say Pluto just inside Hollywood. Then we went on a ride and saw Pluto again at a special meet and greet area. It was fun Michael had enough time to warm up to Pluto this way. Watching Owen play with him. Then I decided to see what Michael would do if he sat near Pluto and he did great, not a fuss that he was near him. So the next step to see if he would sit next to him. The first try he got up and walked away and the second time I got to pictures of him with Pluto. Then the mommies did a baby (toddler) swap and went on Tower of Terror. The boys were so good sitting in their strollers for about 40 min. waiting for us. They had one mommy and snacks with them. We had a good lunch and then went on Toy Story Mania. The boys were a bit antsy in line (it was nap time) but we made it though and Michael and I had fun riding and playing on the ride (it is a game and ride together). Michael got his highest score ever 3200 (last time was 1000). He won't wear the 3D glasses on the ride, I tried. When the ride was over, we got off and instantly he was saying more. I think this is another favorite ride for Michael.

Can you figure it out? You are right the trash truck. And living on a cul-de-sac he gets to watch for a long time as it turns around. He says "uckkkk" when the trash goes in the truck. Disneyland

On Monday the 11th we went to Disneyland in the late afternoon to evening. It was a great day. We listened to Michael the piano player and when he went on a break we went on Small World. The parade was there when we got off so we decided to go on the train to get back to Main Street to Michael after his break. We ended up in the caboose of the train. We were all by ourselves. It was fun. Micheal just happened to be wearing his only train shirt he has that day. We got back and Michael was there ready to play more. Our Michael had fun in the window behind the piano and Rod joined him.

Mother's Day

We had a very blended family BBQ for Mother's Day. There were 17 people here. It was Rod Michael and me, my Mom and Grandma and my Moms best friend Jan (visiting from Oregon), her daughter in law Alicia (husband at work) and her daughter Kylee. Whew I exhausted all ready and that was my family side. So, Rod's parents, Margaret and Craig, Grandma, Aunt and great Aunt. Rod's sister Jennifer and her husband Gilbert. Gilbert's parents Gilbert and Maria. Ok that was all. It was a great day, the kids played in the water a lot and we had good food. Michael loves to water everything. He puts water in the watering can and waters the plants and dirt. Here he was watering Kylee and a sprinkler head with the hose. Michael was kind of crabby and would not smile for any pictures (teething), but Kylee did.

Our meetup group had a Mother's Day picnic at a park. There only 2 of us that came. Good thing I was the main dish person and she was the dessert and plate person. We had no forks and drinks but we made do with what we had. Michael and I had fun. We went on the slide and Michael made sure I went down every time, 2 of the pictures is him at the bottom and wanting/waiting for me to come down to him. He wanted to catch at the bottom. It was so cute of him to look up at me like I do from the bottom of the tunnel slide. Then we join Caleb and his mom at the swings and had a good swinging time.

On our way home Michael fell asleep in the car like he always does. This time he woke up when we got home and did not go back to sleep. So Rod and I decided we were not going to stay home with a crab, we went to my moms house for a change of scenery. Well my moms friend and her grand baby were there. It was great. They played with bubbles and had a fun time.

On Wednesday the 6th we got together with one of Rod's friends, Eric and Christine and their 2 boys and went to Disneyland. It was Mathew's 4th birthday. I got no pictures of the boys but a few of Michael. When we got to Disneyland they were on a ride so we waited for them and had fun on Main Street. We rode the horse drawn carriage and double decker bus. Michael liked the horse and was excited to touch it. We sat at the top front of the bus and saw a lot. Michael just looked around with a cute face. We of course went on Small World and other rides before we went home for a long needed nap.

A long time

It has been a long time since I blogged so there may be a lot to see. It has been crazy here. It seems that Michael is teething his 2yr molars at 21mths. A lot of fussing, drooling, crabbing, whining, and sleeping. Early naps and long ones, but bad night sleeps. Up 4-6 times at night. I am exhausted too.

Michael is sleeping so I will get as much done as I can. It looks like there is going to be 5 post from different activities/thing we have done. One is the most important is that Michael turned 21 months old and I will update on him.

We went to Bullhead, AZ to my Grandma's vacation house. Not the best place, in Bullhead, but we got out of the OC and it was free to stay at. We went with Rods sister and her husband.

Colorado Bell in Laughlin

So this trip almost did not happen. It started out good, got on the road about 11:00am Friday. Michael fell asleep about Victorville, we thought great he will sleep until Barstow. Well that did not happen we hit a traffic stop for construction and he woke up. Then he decided he did not want to be in the car anymore. Started to throw a fit. By now we are moving but he was not happy. We had to stop on the side of the rode to calm him. Got back in the car and he was worse. So bad he was going to throw up, we stopped to the side, and now we were going 70 mph, it was a fast stop. Got to him as he started to throw up, but was able to catch it in something, whew. Got him out and he had a hard time calming, still throwing up on the side of the road. I held him as we watched all the cars and trucks go by until he was calm. I sat in the back with him and read books to him and I was getting carsick and still needed to attend to Michael. So we got to Barstow and ate and talked about if we should go home. We still had at least 2 hours until we get there. We decided to have Michael run around at the outlet mall in Barstow in hopes he will be better in the car. We continued on the road to Bullhead, Michael was doing good with Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Gilbert playing with him in the back. We stopped in Ludlow for some more running around. Michael got bad about Needles, but we were almost there. Got more reading and distractions that worked. Finally we got to Bullhead at 5:00pm. Michael instantly ran around in the backyard very happy he was at a house.

On Saturday we went to an old western town, Oatman, about 13 miles up into the canyon on route 66. It was a lot of fun. There are wild donkeys that roam around the town and old shops to get junk. It was nice to out and wonder around. Michael liked to touch the donkeys. Michael took a nap and in the evening we went to Laughlin (20min. drive). Ate dinner walked along the river and gambled a little. By the way the weather was great. About 85 degrees in the day and in the low 70's at night.

On the way back was good. Michael had a 2 hrs nap, we made it to Barstow without stopping. We ate and Michael did not mind being in the car awake the rest of the way home.

A Day At Irvine Spectrum

Today we went to the Irvine Spectrum with our mommy meetup group. There just 3 of us that went. It was such a nice day to be outside. We walked around and shopped a little (well they did I just looked). Before lunch we let the kids get out and run wild at a fountain. They had so much fun. Owen taught Michael how to get up on the fountain wall and walk. Michael did not climb until Owen did. Michael liked it when the water got big and tall when he was on the wall so close.

Old Tonka Truck

One of Rod's friends gave Michael an old Tonka fire truck. I think it is from the early 70's. He loves it. He likes to push it around and lift/raise the ladder. He thinks it is pretty neat that it goes up high. Today he decided to put dirt into the bucket, that was fun. This truck is neat, you can connect it to the garden hose and it will squirt water out of the fire truck hose. We won't show Michael that yet.

Park Day

Today we went to a park in Orange for a play date for our mom meetup group. I was a great day for the park, we had so much fun. Michael preferred the ages 5-12 play set more than the 2-5 play set. The slides were the same but bigger. He climbed the stairs himself to the tallest (about 7ft) twisty slide. He liked playing in the wood chips also. It was fun putting them on the slide. It seems like whenever there is a play date Michael and Anberlyn always end up playing together, it is so cute.

Enchiladas

We discovered that Michael likes cheese enchiladas a few weeks ago. So this time at a Mexican restaurant we got him his own. I cut it into pieces and he ate almost the whole thing. Then moved to my moms plate for some rice which we knew he liked. Mexican rice was the first table food he ate at a restaurant when he was 7 months old and has not stopped.

We went on Toy Story Mania. The silly glasses are the 3D ones for Toy Story Mania. I got a good picture of my Mom and Michael on the ride playing the games.We decided after waiting in line with a wiggle worm that he needed to run around. So we went to the Wilderness play area. He loved it, we did too. He got the wiggles out of him going on the "rock" slide. Up stairs and down a curved slide. Then we found the long fast slide that was fun. I guess Michael really is not afraid of those tunnel slides anymore. He found out that they are fun. Then we headed to Disneyland for dinner (we took sandwiches in) and good piano playing. We of course went on Small World. Michael is really getting into this ride now. Pointing at things be excited and at the end before you even get outside he knew it was the end and waved bye bye to the last room of children. We looked to see if the goats petting area was open this late but it was not. But on our way through we saw a mom dad and 3 baby ducks at the water and had to stop and watch them. We went on a few more rides, listened to the piano for one more set and went home around 8:30. It was a great evening there.

Disneyland with mommy group

We went to Disneyland with our group on Wednesday. We visited the goats. Michael thought it was funny that a goat was up high on a rock. He has to go around and touch all the goats so it is hard to get a picture of him from the front. Then we went on the Winnie the Pooh ride. Michael waved at Pooh in there. After, we saw Tigger from a far. Michael was signing more when the people would leave for more people to see Tigger. We said "hi" to Tigger and Michael did not want to talk to him. He did smile when Tigger played peek-a-boo with him. Pirates of the Caribbean is still scary but he dose not cry.

carry it carefully across the grass. Then he could water the plants, but most of the time he stopped at the edge of the grass and dumped. Once he got close to the plants, this is his pumpkin plant.

Then of course he watered the grass, roses and his water table which needed some more water I guess.

A busy weekend of fun

On Friday Michael went to Grammy's house so Rod and I can celebrate our anniversary together alone. We went to Disneyland for dinner and relaxing sitting at the piano. We decided to try Michael staying the night at my moms house (Grammy) for his first overnight away. Michael did great, woke up once and feel back to sleep easily. Woke in the morning happy.

On Saturday he came home and went straight to the back yard. Grandma and Grandpa were doing their Sat. morning yard work and Michael had to help. He helped Grandpa clean the waterfall fountain and water the grass. He played in his water table and sand box also. He thought spaying his feet was fun. Michael was exhausted after hours of outside playing, went in had lunch and a good long nap. Then of course he wanted to go back outside after his nap.

On Sunday after his nap since it was still HOT 95 degrees at 4:30 Michael went out to play in his water table. He really likes this table there is so much to do.

Then of course Michael dug in his sand box with the biggest shovel he has.
Then Michael helped me water the sunflowers and the grass again.

We got Michael a little pool and will try it out soon.

Our Anniversary

Today is our fourth wedding anniversary. We decided kind of spontaneously to go to Disneyland with Michael. He got up at 5:30am this morning and could not fall back to sleep. Since we were up and had nothing else to do, we got ready and went to Disneyland. It was a great day. We took a couple of family pictures, on Casey Jr. train and with Dale the chipmunk.

I thought these picture were cute of Michael. The one sitting with a black sweatshirt is in line for Casey Jr train. He just decided to sit down and wait. The one with a big smile not looking at me is sitting with Small World in the background.

And this one with the goat is at the petting zoo. Michael was looking at the barrel and picking at a hole with dirt and the goat just came up to him and was looking at what he was doing.

We have a very cute video of Michael telling us all about Disneyland in the car on the way home. Rod edited it for the day. It is about 3 min. long. You have to see what we did so you know what Michael is saying. Have fun.

Random Pictures

Michael always thinks his cars and trucks need fixing. He ask for the screwdriver, turns over his truck and put the screwdriver in one of the holes on the bottom turns it and thinks he is fixing it. He turns the truck back on their wheels and checks if it is working. It all started with replacing batteries in his toys about 3 months ago. Now when feels like fixing he ask for the screwdriver from the desk.

Michael got play dough for Easter (from his grandmas) and Rod and I found a kit with play dough tools a few days later. This was the first time using the tools. He loved it. It is a pizza factory so it has a lot of cutters and cutouts to make play dough pizza.

We had a fun time at Great Grandma's house for Easter. We first had Michael do an Easter egg and basket hunt. He loved it. We were not sure how he would do with all of us telling him to pick up the eggs. He acted like he was a pro. I wanted to get a family picture so we did it before anything else. They came out good. We had a good lunch/dinner, then played for hours in the backyard. Michael had no nap and ended up with an terrible night sleep. We were up with him at 12:30am-4:30am. He was so over tired that he could not sleep. We had a play date today but had to cancel it.

Michael loved the blackberries that were in the fruit salad. All he ate was blackberries, pasta salad and olives, so nutritious.

We hosted a play date for our mommy group. There were 6 mommies and there toddlers. It was an outside one because we have a big backyard Michael play in all the time. Even though it was cool and cloudy the kids had fun. It was nice to sit and watch the kids play in the yard. Of course I had take some pictures.

Michael is 20 months old today

WELL, this is going to be a long post. Michael is 20 months old today and I am going to update you with what he likes and is achieving.

We went shopping for Michael's Easter basket this week and he decided that he would help. He went straight for the Hot Wheels Monster trucks. He liked spinning the wheels.

So Michael finally got into the bookshelf next to his bed. We heard him talking like normal and then a boom and then he said "ah oh". He was quiet for a while so we decided to check on him and he was in his bed reading Noah's Ark. It was so cute. He told us what happened in his own funny word way.

Today we went to Great Grandma Hilliard's (my Grandma) house. We went out to lunch and went back to her house for a while. She needed a few things done. Michael was helping his daddy pull out the post, well he watched and held the shovel. He swept her patio, even got the dust pan out. It was good he cleaned because Easter is going to be at Great Grandma's house.

Michael also is trying to talk. He has his own little word noises when he plays and talks to us. He is trying so hard to get words out.

Michael loves to be outside. He plays in his sand box and is getting better with his dump truck. He used to just move the sand around and now he scoops with the shovel into the truck and dumps with laughter.

In the past 2 weeks Michael has been getting better nights sleep and so are we. He used wake up every night at least 2 times, now most nights he sleeps through. If he does wake up it is either a nightmare or he is cold or hot.

He really likes going to parks. He loves going down slides. He used to need our help with climbing and help sitting and sliding. Now he goes up the play equipment walks across to the slide and goes down be himself. For some time he used to just walk around the bottom and never go up.

Michael is really enjoys playing. He likes animals, he gets out his Noah Ark and sets out the animals and talks to them. He likes playing with his Cars cars (Lighting McQueen, Mater, ect...). He pushes them around. Michael likes to stack up his Mega blocks (like legoes). He likes coloring and we have make sure he coloring on only the paper. We have caught him coloring the sliding glass door once.

Monday Fun

We ran a few errands in the morning then Michael took a nap and then we went to Disneyland. Rod wanted to see a piano player we have not seen for a while. It was a great afternoon into the evening. We got to see the piano player, Michael was peeking in the window behind the piano. We had a good dinner, fried chicken meal. We took Michael on small world. He knew what we were talking about when we told him we were going on small world. We saw the new parade again but from afar. Michael sat on Rod's shoulders and watched.

Egg Hunt

We went to Irvine Park for a Easter egg hunt with our mommy group. There only 3 of us but one left early. We hung out with the other, Lett and her daughter Julie. Rod came with us and he took a lot of pictures. Michael had a lot of fun. He picked up the eggs after I showed him how to, Julie also showed him how. Then we went and did the silly stick your head in the hole pictures. It was hard to get the kids to look at us. We rode on the train around the park, then we sat down and had a picnic lunch. The kids did not eat very much. After lunch the kids rode the ponies. I thought Michael would freak out but he did not, he loved it . Then it was time for their naps and we left.

Rod wanted to see the park we have been to with our mommy meetup group in Garden Grove, The Atlantis Play Center. It is a fully gated park, with many thing to do. As you see with the pictures we did a lot. Michael had a great time with his daddy. Michael went in his first tunnel, he used to be afraid of tunnels but I guess not anymore. It was a great afternoon.

California Adventures

We went to Disney's California Adventures with my friend from church. It was kind of crowded but we still got a lot done. We saw Handy Manny, Lighting McQueen and went on some rides. The picture of the kids, Courtney (5), Michael (20mths) and Skyler (3), are of them on a ride in Bugs Land that goes around and around. Traci and I got a little dizzy but it was fun. After Bug Land Michael had fun running around a tree and making a squeaky noise. We had a fun time and the weather was great.

We got Michael a t-ball set. Rod showed him how to use it a few times and than Michael did it himself. He got the hang of it fast. I guess he naturally talented, well with both parent played baseball/softball as children it should be naturally. Michael really enjoyed playing t-ball, then he moved to the sandbox, then to his slide. He is an active little boy.

In The Morning--

Michael Helped Grandpa mow the grass. He loved it. He went around the yard 4 times with him. It was so cute. Michael did such a good job.Michael also helped Grandpa and daddy put some grass down in two bare spots and watered it. He enjoys doing gardening and yard work.

In The Evening---

After Michael's nap we went to a BBQ at Uncle Gilbert and Auntie Jennifer' place. They live with Gilbert's parents' house. Gil and Jenn got Michael a golfing set and Gil was showing Michael how to golf. They had a fun time. The family has two dogs and a puppy and Michael loved playing with the puppy. Michael had a good time laughing with Grandpa about the dogs.

Friday Evening

We went to Disneyland with Grammy. We sat at the piano for about 30 min., then waited for the new parade, and than went back to piano for about 2 hrs more. Disneyland was very busy. This was the first night for the new parade. We did not go because of the parade we were meeting friends. Michael loved the parade and he was so good at the piano. He kept on climbing and looking at Robert (the pianist).

We were busy today. We went to a playdate at a house with our meetup group. One of the kids was having fun feeding Michael fish crackers. Her mom and I were laughing at them. It was soo cute.

We also went to Disneyland after Michael's nap. When Rod and I need to get out and walk around we usually go to Disneyland. It is a nice place to be outside and at this point Michael is not needy for going on rides. We always try to go on Small World for him though.

Santa Ana Zoo

We went to the Santa Ana Zoo today with our meetup group. It was a very nice day to be outside. Michael had fun, even though there was not much to see. Michael liked that he was outside and being able to be out of his stroller some of the time. We saw some red birds, lamas, a bald eagle, and a lot of monkeys. This is not a big zoo at all. We enjoyed a picnic lunch than some

playing at the playground.

Tri-City Park

We went to a park in Placentia On Monday. After having a terrible night sleep, up for most of the night. We don't why, but he woke up about 12 times. The last one at about 4am and did not go back to sleep. He was a crab at home but when we got to the park he was great. He liked to play in the wood chips on the ground and finally went up to the top of the play equipment. Michael met the local geese, up close. He went on the swing for a short time. He rather run around the playground and grass.

Tuesday we are going the the Santa Ana Zoo with our meetup group.

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland today for, yes, our meetup group. As you can see we do a lot with them. There were 3 of us that went. We went on Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean (Michael was a little scared of) and Winnie the Pooh rides. We saw Pooh bear, Eeyore, and Tigger. Michael is not into going to the characters right now, he is a little afraid so I have to go with him. I think the pictures came out cute.

Today is a nice day (about 83 degrees). We went to a park with the meetup group. There were only 3 of us but a lot of fun. It is nice to get outside and play at different parks. Michael has so much fun playing at parks. The most fun I think he has now is getting a stick and playing in the sand with it. He is not into climbing and playing on the slide. We had a nice lunch and now he is napping. The park had a big slide that Michael likes but today there were too many big pushing kids. I got Michael to wear a hat, well kind of. He does not like wearing hats, but I trying to get him used to one for the summer. He was better today.

St. Patrick's Potluck

Michael and I went to a St. Patrick's Day potluck with our meetup group. It was at a park in Cypress. We had a lot of fun. It was great weather. Michael enjoyed climbing up on the play equipment, running on the bridge and going down the slide. We ate some good food and he played with his friends and I talked with the other moms.

Outside Fun

Today Michael help out in the yard work. He picked up the rack and started racking. Grandpa was trimming the trees in the backyard.

Michael got a water table (I know it's early). It is from Grammy (my mom). She was going to get him something like this for Christmas but it was too early. We wanted to wait for the spring to do more outdoor things. Michael always wants to be outside now so it is the perfect time. He liked to pour the water in the bucket but it has a hole in it for the little waterfall. He also liked to watch the water come out the bottom of the waterfall.

Strawberry farm picking

We went to a farm in Irvine with our meetup group to go strawberry picking. We first took a tour of the farm on a tractor pulled trailer. They showed us the whole farm. We got to try some carrots, cilantro, snap peas, and lettuce. Then they let us out to pick strawberries. We were able to eat them while we were picking them. As you can see Michael loved picking and eating them. We had soooo much fun. The tour was about an hour and Michael just sat there and looked around.

A moms meetup today

We went to California Adventures today. It was a mommy meetup. There were only three of us. It is nice when there is only a few moms. We had a lot of fun. Michael was a good boy. We saw the squirting water in Bugs Land, we went on Toy Story Mania and walked all over the park. It was good exercise. Michael fell asleep on me before we left and only had a 30 min. nap but is in a good mood this evening.

Today we stayed home. We had a bad night last night awake 3:00am -5:30am. We got up at 9:30am and started our day. We played outside a lot today. We colored in our coloring book and played with toys. It has been a pretty boring day. Michael did enjoy thowing the ball for the dog and playing in the waterfall and sand box.Michael took a 3 hrs nap this afternoon 1-4 and was refreshed for the rest of the day.

The First Post

Michael has had his first ear infection. I guess we have been lucky to go almost a whole 18 months without one. As soon as Michael got on the antibiotics, he has been more like himself. He has gone back to eating everything in site. It is good to have our boy back after feeling so yucky.
